Our Mission

The mission of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Guide is twofold: to reveal and to create links.null

To reveal the wonders the Kingdom has to offer

As described in the post Why Exploring Saudi Arabia? the Kingdom hosts an incredible amount of fascinating places that are still to be discovered. Our first role at Saudi Arabia Tourism Guide is to reveal to you the great variety of wonderful landscapes, rich historical and cultural sites, that are as many hidden treasures that will amaze you. When launched, the website had already over 50 posts about places to visit in Saudi Arabia but at least as many are to come in the following months.

To create links with the people that can help you experiencing Saudi Arabia

As described in the post About Tourism in Saudi Arabia the Kingdom is fairly new to tourism other than religious. Given the great amount of sites with various profiles it is not possible to build in few years all infrastructures and the necessary organization to allow tourists to visit the country by themselves. This is the reason why we strongly recommend to rely on our network of Tour Guides that have the required  experience, knowledge, and contacts to offer you the best conditions to explore this fascinating country.

Unfortunately many wonderful places are still not covered by the existing network of tour operators but we are working closely with them to extend their offer to the still-confidential jewels of Saudi Arabia.

To support touristic agencies to deliver the best quality

We propose to touristic agencies to benefit from our expertise in several fields:

  • New itineraries: Florent Egal has explored thousands of kilometers through the Saudi desert including wonderful areas that are yet to be shown to the world
  • Building website: Makki has set up the website of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Guide and some tour operators in KSA.

Our History

End of 2015 Makki Al-Kurdi, a Saudi national, launched the idea of creating a brand new website to promote tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a broadly unknown country which has a huge potential to attract expatriates who leave there and people all around the world. To do so he proposed to Florent Egal, a French expatriate who had already explored most of Saudi Arabia, and to Andy Conder, a fine connoisseur of Riyadh's restaurant scene. They were both enthusiastic about this idea and immediately decided to launch the project that will soon become the Saudi Arabia Tourism Guide.

One year later Andy had covered some of his  favourite restaurants in Riyadh, as well as posts relating to the desert rallies and other recreational activites he was involved with, and Florent had completed more than 50 articles corresponding to as many sites in Saudi Arabia... and still has plenty more to uncover!

Beginning of 2017 the content of the website reached a satisfying level of information and was officially launched in order to reveal to the world the marvels Saudi Arabia has to offer.

Who we are

The Saudi Arabia Tourism Guide is the result of a project initiated by a group of friends who want to raise the awareness about the unknown marvels and entertainment the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has to offer. The goal of his website consists in sharing the Saudi Arabia's experience of the authors and in creating links between people willing to live this unique experience and our network of Tour Guides.

This project was initiated by three people with different profiles and interests:

  •  Makki Al-Kurdi who initiated the project, as a Saudi national who was born in Saudi and lived also in Europe is familiar with both Saudi Arabia's traditions and modern lifestyle,
  • Andy Conder counts both the UK and South Africa as home, lived in Hail and Riyadh for seven years, is a  connoisseur of restaurants and delicacies one can encounter in the Kingdom, also involved with the motorsports and golfing associations in the kingdom
  • Florent Egal, a French National who has explored most of the Kingdom since he arrived in Riyadh early 2010. Florent has been fascinated by the stunning landscapes and incredibly rich history of Saudi Arabia from his first desert trip. Since then Florent has made several significant archeological discoveries, has become a lecturer about ancient Saudi Arabian history, and has joined the archeological mission of Hegra/Madain Saleh.
